About KeeGuard Railing Systems For Standing Seam Metal Roofs

This custom designed guardrail provides safe access to rooftops and also protects ladderway access.

Four S5U clamps are bolted to a galvanized steel baseplate. Using the simple set screw method, the S5U clamps attach securely to the standing seams without puncturing the metal roof. A Kee Klamp® Type 62 base fitting affixes to each metal baseplate in the system to support the uprights. The horizontal baseplates are custom fabricated to accommodate a wide variety of standing seam metal roofs.

Use of an open-style crossover fitting speeds installation of horizontal rails on standard or modified KeeGuard Fall Protection Systems. If a toeplate is required, Kee Klamp Type 69 fitting is used for upright support.

Materials
Our KeeGuard Roof Edge Railing System is clamp-on guardrail system with 42" minimum height. The system can withstand a minimum load of 200 lbs. in any direction to all components per OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1910.23.

Railing pipe is ASTM A53 1-1/2 inch schedule 40, galvanized. Rails and posts are 1-1/2 inch diameter galvanized steel pipe. Fittings are KeeKlamp galvanized type elbows, crossovers, wall flanges, tees, and couplings to meet ASTM A53.

Mounting bases are galvanized steel.

Finish for pipe for handrails, mid-rails, uprights and roof connections are galvanized mill finish to the requirements of ASTM A53.

In addition to using the Kee Klamp type 62 fitting for upright support, the Kee Klamp type 69 fitting can be used for standing seam applications to accommodate a toe plate.

Installation of KeeGuard Roof Edge Protection
Installation of KeeGuard is fast and E-Z and is accomplished with a few simple tools. There is no penetration of the roofing membrane, our railing system is engineered with a clamping system attached to the standing seam! If you have more than one roof level or perhaps have more than one roof, we package and clearly label each section separately at the factory. This makes loading the KeeGuard to your roof accurate and E-Z. Once on the roof, KeeGuard components are assembled with a 5/16" hex key. Two people can install more than 300' of KeeGuard Railing in one work day!
